NTNU: Researchers, MEPs to debate impact of ‘farm to fork’ strategy on childhood obesity

On the 14th of October there will be an online event on childhood obesity, hosted by Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in collaboration with the European Parliament. 

After the release of the Farm to Fork Strategy, the aim of the event is to discuss the effectiveness of proposed approaches and the possible actions and contributions that each stakeholder could provide to address the childhood obesity epidemic, with a focus on solutions that could also have a positive impact on responsible consumption and sustainable development. 

Among the confirmed speakers: Alessandra Moretti - MEP, Sabine Pellser - EC DG SANTE, Deputy HoU Food Information and composition, food waste, Dirk Jacobs - FoodDrink Europe Deputy Director General, Director Consumer Information, Nutrition and Health, Monique Goyens – BEUC Director General, Pål Richard Romundstad, NTNU Vice Dean of Research, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Bård Eirik Kulseng – St. Olavs University Hospital Trondheim, Head of Obesity Centre.

Finally the event will be moderated by Maryline Fiaschi – Director, Science Business.
