The Finnish government has appointed Ms. Nina Kopola (born in 1960) as the Director General of Business Finland.

The current DG Pekka Soini will be ending his term in August, and did not seek a second term. Kopola is an experienced corporate leader, best known for her career as the CEO of Suominen Corporation. During 2011-2018 Kopola successfully transformed Suominen’s business strategy, shifting the company’s focus solely on nonwoven fabrics. Kopola is also known as her pioneering role as a female CEO: for long she was the only woman heading a publicly listed company in Finland.

Kopola holds several board memberships among the business community. She has a Master’s degree in Science, and is a Licentiate of Technology in Science.

Nina Kopola starts her five year term on the first of September 2019.
