The “STI for global challenges: international research collaboration against COVID-19” workshop will be held online on 15 December in association with the 13th Summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM13). Please register for the workshop via the link below.
The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most devastating crises of our times, and there is an urgent need for us to leverage science, technology and innovation (STI) to make our societies more resilient. Because the pandemic is too big and complicated to be handled by one single country or academic discipline alone, we also need international and interdisciplinary cooperation.
Our workshop will invite speakers from Asia, Europe and Oceania to share their research findings and experiences in response to the pandemic. For the keynote lecture, Noble laureate Prof. Amano Hiroshi will introduce his research on Deep UV-LED to eradicate virus infection. We hope it will be an opportunity to gain a new perspective and find partners for future collaborations, especially for younger participants such as PhD students and early-career researchers.
The event will take place online on 15 December at 17:00 Japan Standard Time.
Agenda and registration are available here.
