NCBR has announced a call for proposals for joint projects between scientists and entrepreneurs who wish to receive funding from Swiss Funds in the area of applied research. The deadline for submission of proposals is 1 July, with 15 million Swiss francs, which is more than PLN 66.5 million, available for use in this year's competition.

NCBR is responsible for implementing the programme in the field of applied research, funded under the Second Swiss Contribution, the so-called Swiss Funds. The programme aims at achieving sustainable development and long-term economic growth through research-based knowledge development. International research and development projects implemented under the programme should lead to improved competitiveness of companies in applied research, and support young and female researchers in the projects.

The call is not thematically limited. Projects have to be submitted by consortia comprising of at least one Polish and one Swiss entity. The eligible consortium has to include at least one enterprise, established in Poland or Switzerland. The minimum amount of funding per project is PLN 2 242 400 (CHF 500 000), the maximum amount is PLN 4 484 800 (CHF 1 000 000). Industrial research and experimental development can be funded.
