launch of Imperial College London's new Institute of Infection

Imperial College London is planning to launch the new Institute of Infection on 4 October.

The Institute’s  mission is to transform the understanding and control of infection through interdisciplinary science. Bringing together clinical, medical, engineering, natural science and economic researchers from across Imperial, the research institute will turn fundamental discoveries into interventions that will save and improve lives globally.

The main launch programme on Monday, 4 October (3:30pm-5:30pm; online) will include:

  • Welcome from Professor Alice Gast, President of Imperial College
  • Keynote address from Ms Julia Gillard, Chair of the Wellcome Trust
  • Overview of the Institute from Professors Charles Bangham and Jake Baum (co-Directors)
  • Panel discussion with key members of the Imperial infection research community

The programme will continue the following day (Tuesday, 5 October), with a symposium covering the breadth of infection research at Imperial; you are also most welcome to attend this (or portions of it) as well.

We welcome you to register to attend on Eventbrite, where tickets will be available for single days (main launch only, symposium only) or both days.
