Tore is a strategic and results-oriented leader, with solid management experience and academic expertise. All of this will be valuable in the processes that UiB will embark on in the coming years," says Hagen.

Tore Tungodden will start in the position immediately and is grateful for the trust.

"I am thankful for the trust given to me by the University Board. The University of Bergen is one of Norway's leading knowledge institutions and one of the largest and most international workplaces in Bergen. It is a privilege to take on the role of a director in an organization with such dedicated and talented employees," says Tungodden.

"The university faces many significant tasks and projects that I know will elevate the university and Bergen. It will be particularly important to contribute to the implementation of the university's strategy and facilitate the important work in our academic communities so that UiB continues to strengthen itself as an international research university," he concludes.
