This paper summarises the discussions from a high-level roundtable which took place in Brussels in October 2024, organised by Science|Business in partnership with the SisAl Pilot consortium and supported by the Brussels office of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
The event served as an opportunity to share key insights and recommendations emerging from the SisAl Pilot with a cross-sector group of expert stakeholders, including senior representatives from the European Commission, industry, research, finance and trade associations. Its overall objective was to explore the potential implications of SisAl Pilot’s findings for various aspects of future EU policy and programmes – and in particular those linked to critical raw materials, circular economy, renewable energy and the greening of industrial value chains in Europe.
