As climate change accelerates and the geopolitical landscape evolves, research funders are increasingly prioritising projects that strengthen societal resilience and adaptation to future challenges.
Addressing and adapting to climate change has been a central focus of the European Commission, which during the past mandate introduced the Green Deal and launched a range of related funding initiatives. In March, the Commission also unveiled its Preparedness Union Strategy, aimed at anticipating and preventing emerging threats and crises.
