The three experts will lead the EU innovation fund’s portfolios in AI, advanced materials for energy, and health and biotechnology
The European Innovation Council (EIC) this week welcomes three new programme managers who will guide its work in artificial intelligence, health and biotechnology, and advanced materials for energy.
The experts join nine other programme managers helping the EIC set the direction in 12 different technology fields, in a bid to generate scientific and technological breakthroughs.
The programme managers are key to realising the €10 billion fund’s partly bottom-up approach. The EIC identifies start-ups and promising innovation projects it backs through both targeted and open calls, but relies on programme managers to make sense of its funding portfolio as a whole.
