An independent report into the EIC and EIT praises their contribution to fostering innovation, but points to potential overlaps
Both the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) provide “substantial EU added value” according to an independent report ordered by the European Commission to feed into its mid-term evaluation of Horizon Europe.
The report will relieve pressure on EIT, which has faced calls for it to be scrapped or merged with the EIC, to remove the overlap between the two.
