Last chance: Register for Brussels conference at 1800 today on UK universities and "Brexit"

05 Apr 2016 | Network Updates
Universities UK and Scientists for EU, two of the leading UK referendum campaign groups, will provide insights into their campaigns.

The debate will include particular emphasis on how universities and scientists are underlining why the benefits of the EU to UK universities and science matter to the British people. They will explain how they are making the case in support of the EU across the UK, using real life examples to bring their arguments to life, and encouraging universities and campaign groups to multiply their messages beyond the confines of the university or science community, via events and through social media. The ensuing discussion will identify lessons for the UK campaign, but also for anyone looking to bring informed debate to the public across the EU.

Speakers:

  • Dame Julia Goodfellow, Vice Chancellor, University of Kent, and Chair, Universities UK
  • Alistair Jarvis, Deputy Chief Executive, Universities UK
  • Dr Mike Galsworthy, Programme Director, Scientists for EU
Moderated by Richard Hudson, CEO & Editor, Science|Business
