ACES Winner Endomagnetics takes new Nanomedicine Award

Endomagnetics, a winner of a Science|Business ACES award in 2012, has been named as one of two winners of the inaugural Nanomedicine Award, organised by the European Technology Platform for Nanomedicine.

The company, which uses magnetic nanoparticles for imaging and assessing if breast cancer tumours have spread, fended off contenders from around the world to win the award.  The Nanomedicine Award winners were announced during the Nanomedicine Panel Session at the BIO-Europe 2013 conference in Vienna earlier this week.

The Nanomedicine Award was set up by the European Technology Platform for Nanomedicine (ETPN) and the EU funded consortium NANOMED2020, to honour the best international nanomedicine innovations. Entrants from academia and industry are eligible for the award, which covers the fields of diagnostics and imaging, therapeutics and regenerative medicine.

“Endomagnetics is very honoured to have been selected for an inaugural Nanomedicine Award, particularly given the global candidature and great promise of this convergent industry,” said the company’s CEO Eric Mayes. “This award enhances the medtech facet of nanomedicine and increases the visibility of our SentiMag and Sienna systems to potential partners as we develop further across the nanomedicine field.”
