Former investment banker joins Climate-KIC as Chief Commercial Officer

Jonathan Tyler, a former investment banker, has become Chief Commercial Officer of Climate-KIC this month (May 2013). Tyler's pan-European remit is to accelerate the commercialisation of the organisation.

Climate-KIC, together with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), is the EU's drive to innovate in the area of climate change through creative partnerships between business, academia and public institutions.

Tyler has been a successful investment banker across the global chemical sector, and held senior roles mostly at US firms, such as Goldman Sachs and Bear Stearns, for around 20 years.

Tyler has worked on varied complex situations, including initial public offerings (IPO's), large international corporate finance (M&A) transactions, producing highly ranked equity research and financial restructuring cases.

Tyler was expert witness for Dow Chemical in the high profile Rohm & Haas versus Dow Chemical court case in the United States. He is a graduate of both Imperial College and London Business School. Tyler is a trustee of the Almeida Theatre in London, and has active philanthropic and arts interests.
