Yves Poilane has taken over the presidency of ParisTech, a consortium of twelve of the most renowned French Grandes Écoles for engineering and management. Poilane, who succeeds Cyrille van Effenterre, has taken on the position on an interim basis since July. ParisTech will soon be launching a formal call for applications to recruit a new permanent president.

Yves Poilane already was Vice President of ParisTech, which encompasses almost 20.000 students. He is director of Telecom ParisTech and administrator of the École Polytechnique. Poilane was director of development and deputy director of Telecom Bretagne between 1989 and 1994. In 2004 he was appointed director of Orange TV and regional director for Île-de-France at France Télécom, a position that he left in 2007 to join Telecom ParisTech.

ParisTech has an international focus and seeks to combine science, technology and management.
