TSB: £2M available for UK SMEs for feasibility studies in high tech areas

The UK Technology Strategy Board has opened a call for Feasibility Studies for Technology-Inspired Innovation under which it will invest up to £2 million in feasibility studies in Advanced Materials, Biosciences; Electronics, Photonics and Electrical Systems; High Value Manufacturing; Information and Communications Technology and Nanotechnology.

Projects can collaborations or can be carried out by a single company, and can take up to three months. They can cost up to £33,000, with funding of up to £25,000 available from the TSB. They must be led and undertaken by small companies with 50 employees or fewer, whether working individually or in partnership.

The competition opens on 10 January 2011 and closes on 10 February 2011. Successful candidates will be informed at the end of February 2011. Each funded project will culminate in a short report and, where relevant, a demonstrator.
