Robot, just add water

Undersea automation to deal with imaging, inspection, mapping, profiling, surveillance, classification and exploration.

Go Science Ltd. says it has invented a robot that can freely maneuver and explore deep under water at a bargain price.

The company, which was formed by a former director of BAE SYSTEMS, is determined to find a niche in the undersea markets that are deemed to be too costly as they are occupied by “divers, or expensive cumbersome vehicles using unreliable umbilical connected to ships, where lifecycle costs in fuel, maintenance and salaries are immense.”

GO Science would use technology in propulsion, endurance, communications, sensors and artificial intelligence for undersea automation.

Go Science is looking to raise capital to fund the expansion of its robot, RHyVau, in 2006 and 2007.
