Press release from King's College London

Gemma Peters, Head of Fundraising at King's, has been appointed as the new Director of Development. She will be responsible for leading the College's new fundraising campaign as well as overseeing the Alumni Office.

Gemma joined King's two years ago and played a major role in the College's most successful capital campaign which raised over £40 million. She takes over from Becky Williams who left recently to become the Tate's Development Director.

Rick Trainor, Principal of King's College London, said, ‘it will be a major challenge to achieve our strategic ambitions in development. But I am very confident that Gemma will provide the professional expertise to launch a more ambitious fundraising campaign. She will move into her new role with immediate effect and I know that she will be able to count on the support and advice of College Committee members and other senior colleagues.'

Before joining King's, Gemma, who has a politics degree from Sussex University, worked at Mencap, the deaf-blind charity Sense and the Open University.
