Politecnico di Milano announces creation of 2 new spin-offs

The Politecnico di Milano has announced the creation of two new spin-offs from the University.  Kee Square will develop biometric recognition research into innovative techniques for video and audio signals.  MITO, using technology transfer and university research, will work in the field of intellectual property management in order to assist universities in the exploitation of intellectual property.

Kee Square, the last spin-off company made by “Politecnico di Milano” was established in July 2007 counting among the shareholders the Politecnico di Milano itself, Prof. Augusto Sarti and Stefano Tubaro, and two industrial partners Celin Technology Innovation S.r.l. and Ghirlanda S.p.A.

Relying on the excellent skills and the strong depth of the innovative expertise in the field of the biometric recognition available at the company, Kee Square invests actively in the development of the innovative techniques to process video and audio signals, oriented to the biometric recognition and the environmental control.

The company develops, integrates, personalizes and proposes to the biometry market, products and solutions with added value that respond to the specific requirements of every client both for Law and Commercial Enforcement.

Kee Square offers a series of sophisticated software libraries, optimized to process in real time images, sounds, planning and training of modules for biometric security in appliance with the current standards ISO/ICAO.

MITO

In May 2007, MITO, the first Italian spin-off working in the field of the intellectual property management, was established at the Politecnico di Milano. The company boasts of the main experts, available in the Italian market, with excellent skills in the field of technology transfer of the university research, from the research centres to the companies more oriented to the innovation. The core business of the company is the management of the intellectual property for actors of the public and private market, especially for Universities and EPR that need to launch pro-active strategies necessary to exploit the intellectual property. The activity lines, in which the company aims at offering its services, are IP management, IP consulting and IP spin off supporting.
