SFI to encourage cross border research

Science Foundation Ireland is making it easier for researchers in the Republic to set up collaborations with colleagues across the border by allowing holders of existing grants to apply for supplementary awards to fund collaborative projects with researchers in  Northern Ireland.

SFI’s supplementary contribution to the collaborative project can be up to 20 percent of the direct costs of the original award. The North-South Research Partnership Supplementary Awards will be evaluated on the basis of the quality of the proposed project and the strategic impact of the partnership on the island of Ireland.
