York University spin-out York Bioanalytical Solutions (YBS) has been acquired by the Danish diagnostics firm Capio Diagnostik Denmark.

YBS was founded in 1999 to provide bioanalytical service supporting the entire compound development process from discovery through to post-marketing trials, for both large and small molecular weight products.

Yvonne Lech, Managing Director of Capio Diagnostik Denmark, said, “Together with YBS, we will be able to offer customers complete support for bioanalytical studies, from sample collection and management through to analysis and data management.”

Jeremy Cook, co-founder of YBS, said merging with Capio would enable the company to provide improved pharmacodynamic analysis for clinical trials. “Through our sister company, Capio Diagnostik in Copenhagen, we are able to offer management of clinical trial samples specifically tailored to the requirements of bioanalysis, improving quality and saving time and expense for that portion of the drug development process.”
