CDC in collaboration with University of Reading

UK company CDC – Central Data Controls Ltd – which produces software for intelligent buildings, has announced the a collaborative research agreement with The Informatics Research Centre (IRC) at the University of Reading.

The collaboration embraces a wide range of research and development activities in informatics, information systems and engineering, including joint participation in software development. In addition to technical input, CDC has been contributing financially to an research project, funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), of systems integration and other postgraduate research. Through the Informatics Research Centre, CDC has a permanent presence at the University to enable close collaboration.

The Informatics Research Centre is an interdisciplinary research and postgraduate centre, part of the Henley Business School, University of Reading. It has several research and industry-sponsored projects in intelligent buildings, information management in construction, and pervasive informatics in built-up environments.

Mike Williams, CEO and Founder of CDC, said:  “This is a natural extension of the involvement which both CDC and the Intelligent Buildings Group have had with the University. This goes back more than a decade, when CDC was instrumental in the establishment of the Masters Degree course in Intelligent Buildings, which was established at the university with financial assistance from the ESPRC.”
