Research Councils UK launches one stop shop for knowledge transfer

Funding opportunity | Development opportunity

A portal to help researchers and businesses find funding for knowledge transfer opportunities has been launched by Research Councils UK. The portal is designed to be a one-stop-shop giving details of all seven research councils' knowledge transfer schemes.

It is divided into four areas: collaborative research; collaborative training; people exchange; and commercialisation and development.

Richard Brown, CEO of the Council for Industry and Higher Education, said, “The benefit to businesses of having a single point of access for finding out about knowledge transfer funding schemes is immense.”

Alison Campbell, managing director of King’s College London Business Ltd, said providing a gateway for business and the public sector to access the wealth of knowledge and expertise available at research institutions, “is essential for the UK as a knowledge economy.”

Research Councils UK is also launching the RCUK Knowledge Transfer Consultation to gather feedback on its knowledge transfer activities from users. The consultation can be accessed via the KT Portal homepage.
