Oxford Gene Technology (OGT) Ltd, a pioneer of microarray-based technologies, has announced a collaboration with Optra Systems, a life science company with expertise in biomedical imaging, to develop visualisation and analysis software.

The collaboration was established to develop software to visualise and analyse data generated from high resolution scanners. The project is now in the testing phase following initial software development.

“We are developing an exciting portfolio of technologies to enable researchers to investigate gene expression in single cells,” said John Anson, OGT’s R&D Director. “Image analysis is an integral part of these developments, and we chose Optra Systems for its expertise and excellent service. We are evaluating outsourcing opportunities for a further pilot project to develop a more powerful version of the software, and look forward to continuing our relationship with Optra Systems.”

Abhi Gholap, President and CEO of Optra Systems, said, “Our biomedical imaging and application development expertise is well suited to building a powerful software analysis solution for the innovative platform in development at OGT, and we look forward to taking the project into the next phase.”
