Science Foundation Ireland: Academic researchers offered grants to work with industry

Funding opportunity

Science Foundation Ireland has launched the Technology and Innovation Development Award (TIDA) to foster greater interaction between academic grant holders and industrial partners, to promote the generation of new applied technologies.

TIDA recognises the importance of encouraging SFI-funded researchers and engineers to develop new technologies independently, or through interaction with industry collaborators. SFI says such interactions can lead to researchers becoming more informed about industrial priorities and research needs, whilst allowing industrial collaborators to become more informed about new science and engineering research developments in Ireland.  SFI also recognises the potential to further develop technologies from SFI-funded research along a more applied, or commercial path.

SFI is looking for TIDA applications from existing SFI award holders. The budget available is up to €100,000 direct costs for a period of up to 12 calendar months.

For more information, and details of how to apply, visit the TIDA website: http://www.sfi.ie/content/content.asp?section_id=464&language_id=1
