The Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Imperial College London, has been named overall winner in the category, “Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Technology,” in the Times Higher Education awards.
The Institute of Biomedical Engineering was recognised for the breadth of its innovation in the areas of medical diagnosis and treatment, personalised healthcare, regenerative medicine and biomedical imaging. The judges were impressed by the range of innovation achieved and its transferability into other fields.
The Institute combines the skills and expertise of Imperial’s research schools in engineering and medicine to drive advances in biomedical technology, and accelerate their commercialisation.
