TU Delft opens incubator for sustainable business

04 Nov 2009 | Network Updates

A new incubator, Dnamo, has officially opened at TU Delft to provide entrepreneurs a place to translate their inventions into scalable, sustainable and successful companies. The initiative kicked off with five young entrepreneurs, focussing among other topics on a new propeller for marine propulsion, a new water treatment technology and a new concept for healthy nutrition for children.

To speed up the establishment and development of these enterprises Dnamo provides strategic advice, training, personal coaching and workshops.

“The selection process is rigorous,” says Dnamo Director Stephan van Dijk. “The up-coming entrepreneurs must demonstrate that their idea is sustainable, innovative and economically viable.” Once inside the incubator, there is access to very favourable loans to start a business, along with access to an extensive network of business contacts and sustainability experts.

Dnamo has been set up in collaboration with TU Delft with support from Rabobank Rotterdam, the Port of Rotterdam, the Rotterdam Climate Initiative and the Ministries of VROM and Economic Affairs.
