Funding opportunity

The TTOM (Technology Transfer Opportunity Mechanism) Awards are now open for bids from SMEs looking for funding to help them transfer technology from Scotland’s universities.

The aim of the scheme is to support technology transfer projects in sectors including Energy, Life Sciences, Digital Media, Enabling Technologies (including optoelectronics, electronics, microelectronics and software) and Sustainable Transport. There is a particular interest in supporting projects with a cross-sectoral and inter-disciplinary focus.

TTOM grants are paid directly to eligible SME companies on a competitive basis, which will then contract with relevant research groups in higher education institutes to provide the assistance required.

The maximum grant is £5,000, covering a maximum of 75 per cent of the total costs of the project, with the remaining 25 per cent being cash or in-kind contributions from the client company.

The TTOM programme is now open for applications with next closing date on Friday January 29, 2010.

Information and application forms are available on the TTOM website.
