The government-sponsored Digital Communications knowledge transfer network (KTN) is running a series of free masterclasses on forming a team and writing a proposal to win funding from the European Union’s Framework Programme 7. The first event will be held at the Institute of Directors, Pall Mall, London on January 28.

The topics covered include the main areas an organisation planning to participate in FP7 should be aware of:

  • Taking the right approach to minimise the cost of participation;

  • Working with the EU Commission on your proposal;

  • What support is available;

  • Building a team;

  • Work integration;

  • Matching roles to partners;

  • Organising a consortium;

  • Methods for searching for partners;

  • Building a proposal;

  • A section-by-section view of a proposal.

Developing a proposal for the EU Commission has many parallels with submitting proposals to other funding organisations and private investors.
