Liquid Accounts Ltd, a specialist in on-line accounting systems, has won backing from the UK government Aspire Fund, which is managed by Capital for Enterprise Ltd (CfEL), in a funding round totalling £770,000.

Liquid has developed online accounting software that can be accessed by businesses from any location. The software is especially suitable for at small and medium-sized companies.

The £12.5 million Aspire Fund was set up in November 2008 to provide support for women-led businesses with an objective to increase the number of successful female entrepreneurs within the UK. The Fund is able to make investments of between £100,000 and £1 million, providing up to 50 per cent of capital in a funding round alongside other new private investors.

Lisa Kendrick, Co-Founder and Marketing Director of Liquid, says she is delighted to have been able to raise this funding in such difficult economic times. “The money will open up new routes to market, and enable us to focus on developing our sales and marketing activity.”
