Enterprise Ireland, the country’s economic development agency, has launched a nationwide business development programme, offering up to €15,000, and other support, to assist the formation of start-up companies in information technology and life science that have significant export potential.

The aim is to provide a number of entrepreneurs and early stage businesses with the skills and training required to take the next step in expanding their business, in Ireland and overseas.

Successful participants in the Propel programme will receive training from management consultants PA Consulting on managing a start-up business, financial support of up to €15,000 from Enterprise Ireland and office space, plus advice and networking support to get the business up and running.

Conor Fahy, Regional Director, Enterprise Ireland, said, “For economic recovery to take place, it is essential that we support the development of innovative start ups in all parts of the country.”

To be considered for the programme, applicants must demonstrate a viable business proposition, capable of achieving revenues of at least €1 million and employing 10 people within three years.

Application for the programme is free and is open to entrepreneurs or early stage businesses in ICT and life sciences in Ireland. For further information, go to http://www.propelprogramme.ie
