01 Sep 2010 | Network Updates

The SETsquared Partnership – the enterprise partnership of the universities of Bath, Bristol, Southampton and Surrey – is to showcase how university research has created new industries, saved lives and changed the way we live forever in an exhibition in London next month.

The Impact of University Research - Changing Worlds will take place on Wednesday October 13, from 09:30–17:00 at One Great George Street, London. The programme will centre around five themes:

  • Communications;

  • Environment;

  • Health;

  • Society;

  • Transport

The four universities will present case studies illustrating the impact of research centred on these five themes, providing the public with the opportunity to discover the breadth of impact the universities have had over the last fifty-plus years. Speakers and hosts from both the universities and their industrial partners will take part.

The showcase will also include lunch-time discussion on what it takes to create impact by a panel that includes key figures from the world of research and innovation - representing all those involved in creating research that changes the world, from policy makers to academic researchers.

The panel will include a research academic, an industry representative, a government official, an economist, and an international representative.

Attendance to the event is by invitation only. To register your interest or to receive updates about the showcase and news on impact please email: [email protected].
