Mapping of cells and proteins improved with help of gamers and AI

Building on a map that shows hundreds of thousands of microscopic images of human cells, an international research team is working with the gaming community and with artificial intelligence to gain a more granular understanding of patterns of proteins arranged within the body’s cells.The advances were reported by a collaboration between KTH Royal Institute of Technology, CCP Games and Massively Multiplayer Online Science.

Professor Gregory De Crescenzo receives a $1.65 million NSERC grant for a training program on nano-medicines

Gregory De Crescenzo, full professor in Polytechnique Montréal’s Department of Chemical Engineering, has obtained a grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) program CREATE to launch a program to train highly qualified staff in the field of nano-medicine.
