News article published about this event: EIT: Turning ideas into reality
One of the biggest new EU initiative in R&D was launched in 2008, and in 2010 the research begins: The European Institute of Innovation and Technology, or EIT in Brussels-speak, is going live. It is forming its research consortia, organizing its management and preparing for its first progress review in the European Parliament. Climate change, energy and ICT are its first points of focus, and the number of university and corporate partners is growing. ScienceBusiness has been reporting extensively on the EIT since its birth. Now, the EIT Chair joins us for a stock-taking exercise - and an open debate on what is next for the institute, and for industry-academic collaboration generally in Europe.
