Social Innovation: ESADE event to explore solutions for social and environmental challenges

13 Feb 2012 | Network Updates

An event organised by the ESADE Institute for Social Innovation on 16 February will feature the participation of international experts on sustainable innovation and will explore innovative solutions for social and environmental challenges.

Is sustainable innovation a source of competitiveness for businesses? Are there tools that can help us to develop innovative, sustainable solutions in specific organisational areas? What role can NGOs and companies play in the development of sustainable innovation? To delve into these issues, the 5th Annual Conference of ESADE’s Institute for Social Innovation, scheduled for 16th February, will bring together a large group of international experts to discuss sustainable innovation as a transformational agent capable of addressing social and environmental challenges.

Sponsored by the Abertis Foundation and Gas Natural, the event will feature presentations by renowned experts on sustainable innovation as a means of analysing how organisations can integrate innovation and sustainability into their identities and organisational cultures, and how this process of integration can create value for the organisations as well as for society at large.

The conference, certified by Offset Options as carbon-neutral, will also feature sustainability and innovation workshops on topics such as shared value creation in companies as a means of addressing social and environmental problems; design thinking as a more humane form of innovation; the importance of creating innovative work cultures and sustainable organisations; and strategic planning as a tool to unleash creativity and innovation in the service of sustainability.

The event will be streamed live at www.innovacionsocial.esade.edu/jornadanual
