New proof of concept funding available in eastern England

In response to the economic downturn, the East of England development Agency (EEDA) has announced an additional round of  proof of concept funding to assist companies in the region test the commercial viability of innovative business ideas.

Up to GBP 300,000 is available in total. Applications must be submitted by 28 November 2008 and applicants who are successful in the first stage of their application will be requested to attend a panel meeting week commencing 12 January 2009.

The Proof of Concept fund is specifically aimed at helping define the market and assess customers’ needs. Grants of between GBP 5,000 and GBP 40,000 are available, with funding limited to 75 per cent of the total cost of a project.
