Horizon Europe: What's in store for innovation ecosystems? + Network workshop on Year 1 of the EIC

A private Science|Business FP Working Group meeting (15:00 – 16:00 CET)

A private Network workshop (16:00 - 16:30 CET)

Ever since the framework for Horizon Europe was announced, there has been a great deal of interest and curiosity about one of its new features: innovation ecosystems. On one hand, many appreciate another clear and ambitious commitment from the Commission to boost Europe’s innovation performance and sustainable business growth.  On the other, however, concerns persist about the feasibility of building an interconnected, inclusive ecosystem that links hundreds of national, regional and local equivalents across the continent.

As the Commission moves forward with its implementation plans, therefore, it is a highly relevant moment to explore what Europe’s R&I communities can expect in the months to come. What will be the priorities and opportunities for engagement? How will the EIC Prizes, interregional innovation fund and new cohesion instrument fit into the bigger picture?  And what can be done to stimulate more gender balance and regional inclusion going forward? In this private, online meeting, Science|Business Network members will have the chance to discuss these questions and more with a senior representative from the Commission’s agency in charge of the process.

After the FP Working Group, we will devote a further 30 mins to a member-only feedback session on Year 1 of the European Innovation Council.
