3i calls in experts in entrepreneurship

An advisory board of technology visionaries and venture capital leaders from all over the world will work alongside 3i to encourage entrepreneurship in the companies it invests in.

Venture capital firm 3i plc has set up of a Venture Capital Advisory Board comprised of technology visionaries and venture capital leaders from all over the world to alongside the company to encourage entrepreneurship in its companies it invests in.

Jo Taylor, 3i VC Managing Partner, explained, "3i has brought together a group of individuals who will work with us to support 3i backed IT and healthcare companies. This symbiotic relationship will allow the sharing of insight and experience.”

Members of the advisory board members will be able to invest in 3i companies. They include, Ahmad Bahai, co-inventor of Multicarrier CDMA, and David Nagel, formerly of AT&T Labs, Apple Computer and NASA Ames Research Center Aerospace Human Factors Research Division.

The board members are to offer strategic insight in their specific fields of excellence to 3i portfolio companies, help 3i during the due diligence process and assist with sourcing the best entrepreneurs and start-ups, especially at an early stage of development.
