The National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) has announced the next Call for Proposals under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan dedicated to the Circular Economy. The entity responsible for the investment is the Polish Ministry of Development and Technology.
The Call is a response to the challenge of implementing the principles of circular economy, particularly developing technologies for using waste as a secondary raw material to create a more efficient economy. The project results should benefit the natural environment by limiting pollution and the entire society.
Each co-funded project must involve the development of at least one innovative technology at a minimum national scale, and the results of the project must be implemented on the market, for example, activities like increasing the amount of reusable raw materials, reducing the amount of primary raw materials used in production processes or reducing the amount of waste stored in landfills.
The Call is addressed to large enterprises individually or in consortia consisting of at least one large enterprise and at least one research organisation. A consortium can be composed of a maximum of three entities, where the enterprise must be a leader of the consortium while SMEs can participate as members of a consortium.
Funding can be obtained for research and development (R&D) work on technologies contributing to creating a market for secondary raw materials; pre-implementation and implementation works designed to introduce the solutions developed under the project to the market and purchasing R+D infrastructure to develop technologies contributing to the creation of a market for secondary raw materials. The implementation of the results of R&D work can be financed as part of the project itself or from the company's funds.
The Call is carried out as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRF) under the Reform: A2.2. Creating Conditions for the Transition to the Circular Economy Model; Investment: A2.2.1. Investments in the Implementation of Environmental Technologies and Innovations, including those related to the Circular Economy.
The minimum project financing amount is EUR 2.3 million (PLN 10 million), and the maximum is EUR 16 million (PLN 69.2 million). The call for proposals will be open from the 8th of August to the 31st of October 2024.
