After the highly successful 2013 World Science Forum held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences will host the 2015 biennial event themed ‘The Enabling Power of Science’ reflecting on the capacity of science to open new paths for the improvement of human life, business innovation and policy-making.
World Science Forum (WSF) is a global platform of science diplomacy that provides a forum for society, scientists and policy-makers to discuss the ethical, environmental, economic and social challenges of the world of science, and the roles and responsibilities of its stakeholders in addressing these common challenges with the utilisation and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
SciCom – Making Sense of Science and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences have decided to jointly facilitate 12 international science journalists from 12 countries to attend WSF 2015. (Note: international media, in general, can request WSF participation at their own expense by contacting the organisers of the Forum at [email protected], on the event site or via the further information details below)
THE SCHEME
In addition to ample interviewing opportunities, these 12 media will be provided with:
- Free conference registration;
- Free accommodation from 4 – 7 November inclusive;
- Free onsite catering;
- Free access to all programme and side-event activities, &
- A lump sum of EUR 250 towards proven travel costs.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Journalists irrespective of their gender, age, nationality, place of residence and media (paper, radio, TV, web) are welcome to apply. Media accreditation will be required.
