A three year collaboration between the Vetmeduni Vienna and the Georgikon Faculty of the University of Pannonia aims to improve food safety and help poultry producers

Vetmeduni Vienna, the Veterinary University of Vienna, and the Agriculture Faculty of the University of Pannonia, Hungary, are to carry out a joint research project in support of the poultry industries in the two countries. The initiative, with funding of €820,000 from the European Regional Development Fund, will establish a knowledge centre to support businesses in the border region between the two countries, helping to improve their efficiency and ensure the production of safe poultry products.

The two partner institutions have internationally recognised experience in the fields of poultry nutrition and poultry health, and will work together in research and education, and translate results into practice. The results of the joint work will be incorporated into the two institution’s teaching programmes and consulting services.

During the course of the project, the partners will organise joint research programmes, seminars and workshops. A website has been launched to disseminate research results to the industry.
