Communology receives venture capital for international expansion

Mobile network software and applications specialist Communology GmbH of Cologne closed a round led by Munich Venture Partners to fund the development of mobile multimedia services and will expand its business into new regions. The amount raised was not disclosed.

The money will enable Communology to develop products for emerging market of mobile social communities, mobile marketing and mobile instant messaging. The existing investors S-VC, Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau, and both founders, Thomas Kähler and Frank Bell, followed on in this second round.

“This investment provides us with the financial resources to turn our visions into reality,” said Thomas Kähler, CEO who co-founded Communology in 2002.

Communology’s technology has been deployed by mobile phone manufacturers, network operators and customers from the media and IT industry.
