Karolinska appoints Christian Giske as deputy chairman of its research committee

Professor Christian Giske has been appointed deputy chairperson of the Committee for Research effective immediately, following a decision by KI’s president. His mandate runs until Dec. 31, 2025.

Christian Giske succeeds Professor Marie Arsenian-Henriksson who was recently appointed chairperson of the same committee as well as academic vice president for research. She succeeds Professor Martin Bergö, who recently became KI’s new vice president.

Christian Giske was one of four candidates in the election of academic vice president to the Committee for Research in 2022. He is professor at the Department of Laboratory Medicine and chief physician at Karolinska University Hospital. His research group studies antibiotic resistance and new precision medicine strategies such as bacteriophage therapy.
