HUN-REN signs cooperation agreement with American Commission for Educational Exchange

The HUN-REN Headquarters and the Hungarian - American Commission for Educational Exchange (Fulbright Hungary) have concluded a Cooperation Agreement aimed to strengthen scientific relations between the two countries and opening new opportunities for Hungarian and American researchers. Signed on 25 August 2025, the framework rests on two main pillars: the Mobility Fellowship Pilot Program, and the jointly funded research scholarship grants through mobility scholarships and jointly funded research projects from 2026 through 2028.

The aim of these initiatives is to promote scientific excellence, professional development and international collaboration, while also supporting the next generation of young researchers. The newly concluded agreement ensures direct support for cooperation between HUN-REN researchers and American scholars interested in engaging with Hungary’s research network, spanning a broad range of disciplines, with particular emphasis on the natural sciences, mathematics and life sciences.

As part of the framework of the Fulbright Mobility Scholarship Pilot Programme, a Fulbright Grant Authorization for U.S. Grantees to Hungary, an American Professor has received a Fulbright Teaching/Research Grant and will be hosted by the HUN-REN Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics from September through December this year.
