Grants of up to €400,000 will support projects that must result in security and defence advancements

The Nato defensive alliance, covering 32 countries across Europe and North America, has published the call text for its 2026 Science for Peace and Security Programme, a multi-million-euro funding initiative supporting collaborative research on emerging security challenges.
Under the programme’s multi-year projects scheme, Nato will provide from €250,000 to €400,000 per project for research jointly developed by partners from at least one Nato member state and one eligible Nato partner country.
Funded projects must contribute to Nato’s strategic objectives and result in new civil science advancements with practical application in the security and defence fields.
