COST has established a Scientific Committee at the heart of its new scientific organisation and evaluation and selection procedure.
The committee is composed of independent, high-level experts proposed by the COST Member Countries and Cooperating State and appointed by the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO), and it held its first meeting on 14 April 2015 at the COST Association premises in Brussels.
The COST Scientific Committee consists of renowned European researchers acting independently and will play a central role in the overall supervision and quality control of procedures related to the submission, evaluation and selection of proposals and the monitoring of COST Actions. The Scientific Committee will serve as advisory body to the CSO on the development of COST Science &Technology strategy.
The creation of the new scientific organisation will follow the COST mission and policies, fostering Excellence and Inclusiveness at pan-European level.
