It’s still more than a year to go until the next Euroscience meeting in Dublin in 2012, but Copenhagen has been announced as the venue for the event in 2014

Euroscience has announced that Denmark is to host for the Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) in 2014. The conference will take place on 21-26 June 2014 in Copenhagen and the theme will be ‘Science Building Bridges’.

Denmark’s Science Minister Charlotte Sahl-Madsen said this would be a unique opportunity for the country to set the agenda for research in Europe. “We must use ESOF 2014 to discuss current and ground-breaking research, impart exciting new knowledge and debate which research policies we will pursue in the future, not just in Denmark, but in Europe and on a global level.”

“We want to create an event that is inclusive for all those who wish to discuss research, technology, innovation and education,” said Klaus Bock, the scientist who will be Denmark’s figurehead for ESOF 2014. “We don’t see ESOF 2014 as a one-off event, but as a culmination of a national wider effort to embrace research in the run-up to 21-26 June 2014,” Bock said.
