The Information Society Technology programme of the EU's Framework 6 has a new web site aimed at the New Member States and Associate Candidate Countries.

We have always been a fan of the EU's IST programme and its web site, which churns out an impressive flood of results. They have now invested in a project whose objective is "to set up and populate an information portal with innovative functionalities that helps to promote RTD competencies in IST in the New Member States (NMS) and Associate Candidate Countries (ACC) and facilitates and fosters the involvement of different research entities in joint RTD activities."

It is early days yet for the portal, which is not the easiest site to fathom, with a pair of seemingly related sites, but their heart is in the right place. The background to the site appears here. The whole thing is hosted by the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI).
