Funding opportunity

Oxford Capital Partners said it is raising up to £20 million for a new UK technology investment fund.

The fund, Oxford Gateway Fund No.4, will focus on unquoted science-based businesses in the central and southern UK region. The company called the area "one of Europe’s most powerful regions of innovation."

It said the fund is structured as an Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) fund, meaning it has a special tax status in Britain for its investors.

The prior three Oxford Gateway funds have, since 1999, made more than 30 investments in healthcare, environmental technologies, enterprise software and communications. Several of these companies have since listed or been acquired.
