Algenics SAS of Nantes, France was awarded Euros 650,000 by the public funding agency OSEO for its partnership in the Algohub programme, which is led by the Roquette group.

The five-year programme brings together 14 industrial and academic players to develop microalgae industrial production processes, for use in markets including human and animal nutrition, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. Algohub’s total budget is Euros 28.4 million.

“We are particularly pleased to be participating in this ambitious programme in the company of industrial players that have fully understood the huge economic potential of microalgae in sectors as varied as pharmaceuticals, nutrition or cosmetics,” said Morgan Cabigliera, President and co-founder of Algenics.

“This partnership constitutes a first step along the way to wider recognition of the depth and solidity of our know-how and technologies.”
