The UK medical research charity, the Wellcome Trust, and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) have announced that they will jointly fund new Centres of Excellence in Medical Engineering.
The centres are intended to build links between medicine and engineering to develop technologies and prostheses that will help an ageing population manage various physical frailties.
